October 5, 2020 – New Orleans District “E” Councilwoman Cyndi Nguyen is launching a Unified District E Economic Development Committee that will meet the week prior to New Orleans City Council meetings to discuss upcoming zoning, land use, and policies that affect District E, as well as long-term planning for the district.
The committee will be chaired by Victoria Lewandrowski from the District E office and comprised of representatives from economic development focused groups from the Lower Ninth Ward and New Orleans East. The goal of this committee is to encourage economic development in District E through the tools available to the New Orleans City Council: policy, land use, and zoning.
Councilwoman Nguyen wants to advise that while this is the first committee to launch, there are other committees in the works focusing on Quality of Life and Housing. More information regarding these committees will be announced soon.
The next meeting of this committee will be on Thursday, October 8 from 5:30 – 7:00 PM.
