District 100 Tulane Legislative Scholarship applications being accepted

District 100 residents may submit applications to State Representative Jason Hughes for the 2022-2023 Tulane University Louisiana Legislative Scholars Program.

The Louisiana Legislative Scholars Program provides a one-year full-tuition scholarship to Tulane University for Louisiana residents who are graduates of Louisiana high schools and meet the eligibility criteria. Scholarship awards are made on an annual basis. The successful District 100 Louisiana Legislative Scholars recipient will be awarded a full-tuition scholarship to Tulane University for ONE year and will be eligible to apply for the scholarship for three additional years, for a maximum of four years should they continue to meet the eligibility criteria of the program.  Continue reading “District 100 Tulane Legislative Scholarship applications being accepted”

SBA “Get Certified Day” Webinar

Speakers will include representatives of SBA, LA-DOTD, Louisiana Economic Development, and Louisiana PTAC. Following the presentations by each organization, participants will be able to join individual breakout rooms to work on their respective applications. The goal is to get more firms certified so that they can take advantage of the $500 Billion Federal Government Contracting Arena and to be eligible to take advantage of contracts awarded by the State of Louisiana, and Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development

City of New Orleans Announces Payment Options for 2022 Property Tax Collections

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans announced payment options for homeowners to submit property taxes for 2022. The deadline for payments was extended to Feb. 28, 2022 due to the significant number of damaged properties resulting from Hurricane Ida and postponed election days.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation Announces 2022 Catapult Application for Small Business Owners

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation has announced that applications are open for the 2022 Catapult Fund small business training program. The 2022 Catapult Fund is open to entrepreneurs in the beauty, fashion and jewelry industries. This program is a partnership between the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation and Capital One Bank and the Louisiana Small Business Development Center Greater New Orleans and River Region.
