New Orleans City Councilmember for District E, Cyndi Nguyen, gave updates to constituents on current activities in New Orleans East.
PJ’s Coffee will hold its Grand Opening on May 19, 2019. Councilmember Nguyen will move meetings to this location from the Pontilly location.
On Saturday May 18, 2019, Councilmember Nguyen and her Economic Development Liaison, “Kin” Hardy, will be at the RECon Global Retail Real Estate Conference in Las Vegas.
Lake Forest Towers has a new owner. The new name will be Lake Forest Manor. Owners are currently cutting grass and finalizing funding and permits from HUD and HANO. A new update will be available at the end of July.
Ochsner Medical Center is building a facility next to Walmart on Bullard. A Job Fair will be held. More information to come.
The old Grand Theater will be demolished in about 2 months.
Bid proposals are due by May 15, 2019 on the old Lowe’s building. Hope to have an update by July.
A Community Market is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month at Louisiana Nature Center from 8:30 am – 11:30 am.
